Ephesians 6:10: “Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto
you take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;”
You’ve got to put this on to be able to stand: the breastplate of righteousness. If you’ve been floundering, if you’ve been struggling, if you’ve been under condemnation, if you’ve been battling guilt, if you’re battling shame, it’s proof that you’re an open target, that you don’t have on the breastplate of righteousness. I want you to notice that it’s a robe of righteousness to cover our nakedness. It’s a breastplate, a piece of armor to protect our heart against condemnation. Put it on. It’s your protection from God. Righteousness is being in a state of innocency. Where do we get that innocence from? It is a gift from Him. He takes our guilt upon Himself. He takes His innocence and puts it on us.
Romans 8:31 says: “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be
against us?”
Hear me right now. When you walk in righteousness, you walk in this confidence: If God is for me, and He is because He gave me His righteousness, who or what can be against us?
Let me tell you something. If you’re not dressed in the robe of righteousness and wearing the breastplate of righteousness during these times where we’re walking by faith, we know we’ve done the will of God, but we’re in that in-between place between doing the will of God and receiving the promise, we know God’s said it, we know we’ve done it, we’ve obeyed Him, we’ve done everything He’s told us to do, and now we’re waiting and believing to receive it, but we’re not seeing it yet. If, in that in-between place, you don’t have confidence in God because you are wearing His righteousness and you know He is for you, and it’s not because you’ve sinned or whatever, it’s just that while that in-between place, you don’t have that confidence, you’re going to get your brains beat out.

The Role Of Righteousness: The breastplate of righteousness protects the heart, symbolizing the importance of living a life that is right before God.
Righteousness guards our spiritual vitality, much like armor protects a soldier in battle (Philippians 4:7).
