BIBLICAL SALVATION IS NOT A “RESCUE MISSION.”

In a rescue mission, those who are in danger are rescued “out of danger” to then continue to go on about their lives as they choose to live them.
Rescue Missions are not intended to change one’s life, only to preserve life.
But, this is not what Biblical salvation is! We are not “rescued out of sin“ to then live our lives our way, for our purposes, according to our schedules, guided by our priorities, overseen by our principles, etc.
Also, the Good Master DID NOT “save us” to “give us a better life.”
He saved us FOR HIS SAKE to serve Him in His Will, for His purpose, and to be a part of His plan. PERIOD!
We are “saved” to become Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, and participants with Him in His Kingdom — wherever, whatever, however, whenever He chooses for us to be involved — for ALL of our “saved” lives!
This is why Paul frequently used, by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, the Greek word doulos to describe himself, which is usually translated in the King James Version as “servant,” but literally means “slave, whether involuntarily or voluntarily” (Strong’s Dictionary).
Furthermore, according to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, doulos means, “metaphorically, one who gives himself up to another's will; those whose service is used by Christ in extending and advancing his cause among men; devoted to another to the disregard of one's own interests.” Therefore, the word “servant” (doulos) is a perfect spiritual synonym for the word “disciple” and the spiritual concept of “discipleship.”
The Bible also uses the word “redemption“ in regards to salvation. When we are “redeemed,” we are “PURCHASED” by the Redeemer. Scripturally, and by definition, we are redeemed by the “Good Master” from bondage to the evil master. However, after redemption, we still belong to the “Good Master“! HE OWNS US!
Far too many who are “saved“ have absolutely no concept or understanding of this Biblical principle regarding salvation. Therefore, they live a life of presumption. They presume that they are in-charge, i.e., in control of their lives. And, THEY ARE NOT! Not if they are allowing the Lord to fulfill His purpose for saving them THROUGH THEM.
Paul definitively declared the following:
1 Corinthians 6:15-20
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ?
shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, WHICH ARE GOD’S.
While some “christians” may claim ignorance concerning the definition and parameters of salvation as being redemption, they are not innocent. Even a casual study of the Bible easily reveals what the Word says about redemption and our expected responses to being redeemed and towards the One Who redeems us — Our Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ.
When the Redeemed live their lives without being submitted to their Good Master, they are living in rebellion to their Master. THAT IS SIN!
Some will claim “ignorance” concerning this stipulation of salvation/redemption. But the Word “ignorance” implies the consequences/the end results of “ignoring.” Therefore, ignoring what the Word says is expected of us does not make us innocent of violating the Word! WE ARE STILL GUILTY! Why? Because we have become “ignorant” because we “ignored” the Word. We did not study/search the Scriptures to find Truth!
Being ignorant of the Truth does not justify us/make us innocent when we disobey Truth. Our guilt is only compounded because being ignorant of Truth indicates that we did not earnestly seek for Truth. GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS! If He gives Truth to one seeker, then He will give Truth to every seeker, who seeks for Him, Who is THE TRUTH, with their whole hearts.
Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
In Jesus’ Name!
